Road-Rail excavator CAT M315 DUO is equipped with Road-Rail system consisting of front rail gear and rear rail gear. Both the front and the rear rail gear are designed to follow the swivelling motion of the front and the rear excavator axles. Wheel profile can be modified for ride on grooved rails and supplied as well. The rail gears are designed as mountable between the excavator frame and the ploughshare. Fast dismounting and remounting of the rail gears is achieved by means of changing a few pins. Road-Rail excavator can be used with or without the rail gears.
